San Jose, CA (December 14, 2024) – A vehicle collision with injuries occurred early Saturday morning on northbound SR-87, just between the Curtner Ave and Capitol Expressway interchanges in San Jose. The crash involved a white Toyota Corolla and a black Toyota Prius, with both vehicles blocking the slow and fast lanes on the right-hand side.
Emergency responders, including California Highway Patrol (CHP) units, were promptly dispatched to the scene. The white Toyota Corolla, which was reported off the roadway, and the black Toyota Prius, which was blocking lane 1, both required towing. A tow service, Alongi Bros, was contacted, with an estimated arrival time of 20 minutes.
Although the extent of the injuries is unknown, responders worked to clear the vehicles and ensure the safety of the area. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and traffic was temporarily disrupted until the vehicles were removed and lanes were reopened.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident, and we hope for a swift recovery for those injured.
Traffic Collisions in California
California’s highways, such as SR-87, frequently see vehicle collisions due to high traffic volumes and the complexity of interchanges. Accidents involving multiple vehicles can cause significant delays and create hazardous driving conditions, particularly when vehicles block key lanes.
Drivers are reminded to remain vigilant and practice defensive driving by maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles and following posted speed limits. Staying focused on the road, especially in high-traffic areas, can help prevent accidents and ensure safer roadways.
If you are involved in a vehicle collision, it’s crucial to prioritize safety by contacting emergency services, documenting the scene, and seeking medical attention, even for minor injuries. Consulting with legal or insurance professionals can also help resolve any claims and disputes.
