Daviess County, MO (December 13, 2024) – A serious crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Missouri Route 6, about 1/2 mile east of Altamont in Daviess County. The accident, which took place around 2:00 PM, involved two vehicles: a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander.
The crash occurred when the westbound Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by a 58-year-old female from Kansas City, MO, crossed the centerline of the roadway and collided with the eastbound Chevrolet Silverado. Despite attempts to avoid the collision, the Silverado was struck by the Outlander, causing both vehicles to lose control.
The driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander was transported by Community Ambulance District to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries. She was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
The Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 27-year-old male from Jamesport, MO, also overturned after the impact, coming to rest on its top facing east after overcorrecting. The Silverado driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries, while the vehicle was towed by Scotty’s Towing.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. The Mitsubishi Outlander was towed by Scotty’s Towing, as well.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating the incident, which has caused significant traffic delays in the area.
