Columbia, SC (December 12, 2024) – A fatal head-on collision occurred Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:31 PM on Garners Ferry Road, one mile north of Eastover, in Richland County. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the crash involved a 2006 Acura RS6 and a 2021 Toyota Tundra.
Troopers reported that the driver of the Acura was traveling west when they attempted to avoid hitting a 2020 Lincoln Navigator, which was turning north onto Kate Road. In the process, the Acura struck the Toyota Tundra head-on. The driver of the Acura was transported to the hospital, where they later died from their injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the Lincoln Navigator was not injured.
