Audrain County, MO (December 8, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Sunday morning on westbound US 54, approximately 0.1 miles east of Audrain Rd 964. The collision, reported at 12:06 AM, tragically claimed the life of a 31-year-old male pedestrian from Justin, TX.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident happened as the pedestrian was walking in the westbound driving lane of US 54. A 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 27-year-old male from Vandalia, MO, collided with the pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services at 12:20 AM. The Jeep sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by A1 Towing.
This marks Troop F’s second fatality for December and the 51st roadway fatality for 2024. The accident remains under investigation by Corporal B.A. McLaughlin, with assistance from Corporal B.W.
