Fairview, KY (December 5, 2024) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a beloved North Todd Elementary School librarian, Karen Hargrove, 58, of Hopkinsville, on Wednesday near the intersection of Goshen Rd and US 68. According to Todd County Emergency Management, the crash occurred when a truck driven by Timothy Todrank, 60, of Houston, Texas, crossed the median and struck Hargrove’s vehicle.
Hargrove sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Todd County Coroner’s Office. Authorities reported that Todrank appeared lethargic and unable to verbally communicate with officers at the crash site. Later, Todrank allegedly confessed to falling asleep behind the wheel.
Todrank is now facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, DUI, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently held at the Todd County Detention Center. The crash resulted in the closure of eastbound lanes for several hours as Kentucky State Police conducted their investigation.
