Goshen, IN (December 2, 2024) – Three individuals were hospitalized following a crash that occurred on Saturday afternoon near Brinkley RV, located east of Brinkley Way West along C.R. 36 in Goshen. The incident, which took place at approximately 1:52 PM, involved a rear-end collision between two vehicles.
According to Elkhart County deputies, Sarah Perault, 38, from Southgate, Michigan, had stopped her 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris along the shoulder of C.R. 36 when Ronald Wing, 44, of Elkhart, driving a 1999 Lincoln Continental, failed to stop in time. Wing was traveling westbound at an unsafe speed and collided with the rear of Perault’s vehicle. Perault, Wing, and Wing’s passenger, Richard Monschein, 42, of Elkhart, were all transported to Goshen Hospital for treatment.
Perault suffered chest, neck, and back pain as a result of the crash. Wing complained of knee pain, and Monschein sustained abrasions to his face and a back fracture. Authorities also reported that both Wing and Monschein were arrested following the incident. Wing was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle. Monschein was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and had an outstanding warrant.
