Clovis, CA (December 2, 2024) – A tragic early morning collision in Clovis left one person dead and several others injured, including one individual in critical condition, after a suspected DUI driver ran a red light. The crash occurred just after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Fowler Ave and Gettysburg Ave.
According to the Clovis Police Department, the suspected DUI driver, identified as 19-year-old Fnu Himanshu of Clovis, was traveling westbound on Gettysburg at a high rate of speed. As he approached the intersection of Fowler, Himanshu ran a red light and collided with another Hyundai vehicle that was southbound on Fowler, entering the intersection on a green signal light. The impact caused both vehicles to spin out of control and strike three parked cars in nearby private driveways.
Police confirmed that the suspected DUI driver, two of his passengers, and the two occupants in the other vehicle all sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals after receiving medical aid at the scene. Tragically, a woman in the front passenger seat of the other vehicle died as a result of the crash. The driver of that vehicle remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Fnu Himanshu is facing multiple felony charges, including DUI and vehicular manslaughter, and will be booked into Fresno County Jail.
