Palatka, FL (November 29, 2024) – A fatal crash in Palatka Thursday night claimed the life of a 63-year-old man, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cracker Swamp Road and State Road 207.
FHP troopers report that the man, who had been stopped at a stop sign on Cracker Swamp Road, began to make a turn onto State Road 207. As he turned, he entered the path of a southbound vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, unable to avoid the collision, struck the left side of the 63-year-old’s car.
The force of the impact caused the 63-year-old man to be ejected from his seat, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a car traveling south on State Road 207, sustained only minor injuries and did not require extensive medical treatment.
