Queen City, NH (November 27, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision on Salem Rd (Rte. 111), east of Rockingham Rd (Rte. 28), at approximately 5:43 p.m. The accident involved three vehicles and resulted in significant damage. Fire crews from Windham, including Windham C-1 (Chief McPherson), Windham C-2 (Assistant Chief Brady), and Windham Engine-2 (Lt. Hildebrandt, FF. Pitts, FF. Bahan), responded to the scene alongside Windham Ambulance-1 and Windham Police.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed that three vehicles had collided, causing a debris field across the road. One female driver from a blue CRV, which sustained extensive damage, was evaluated and eventually transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester by Windham Ambulance-1. Two male drivers from a Jeep and a white compact vehicle were also evaluated. While one initially refused transport, he later requested medical care and was subsequently transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry. The other male driver refused further care.
The accident prompted the temporary closure of Salem Rd in both directions as crews worked to clear the scene and ensure safety. The road remained closed for some time, with assistance from Salem Police. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Windham Police.
