Crawfordville, FL (November 27, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday night while walking along the side of Shadeville Rd near Hickorywood Dr in Wakulla County.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that a 44-year-old Crawfordville woman was walking along the white fog line when a pickup truck driver, a 69-year-old man also from Crawfordville, approached her location. According to the driver, he moved over to give the pedestrian space, but as he passed her, the woman stepped into the lane and extended her arm for unknown reasons.
The truck’s passenger-side mirror struck the woman, causing serious injuries. Emergency responders from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and Wakulla Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene to assist. The woman was transported for medical treatment, and her current condition is unknown.
FHP has not released the identities of those involved, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
