Raleigh, NC (November 25, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred late Monday night on U.S. 64 in Princeville, Edgecombe County, when a sedan ran off the road, struck a tree, and caught on fire. Emergency responders received the call at approximately 10:30 p.m. and arrived at the scene to find the vehicle engulfed in flames. Sadly, the passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. The male driver was able to survive the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has stated that the relationship between the driver and passenger remains unknown.
