Parkers Prairie Township, MN (November 25, 2024) – A single-vehicle rollover accident occurred on Sunday evening in Parkers Prairie Township, Otter Tail County. The crash took place at the intersection of MN Highway 29 and Buds Barn Rd at approximately 5:22 p.m.

According to reports, a 2010 Dodge Caliber was traveling southbound on MN Highway 29 when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Emergency responders, including Parkers Prairie Ambulance, Police and Fire Departments, and Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, quickly arrived at the scene.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Krystal Danielle O’Bar of Wadena, MN, and her passenger, 31-year-old Jonathan Rey Hassinger, also of Wadena, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to Alomere Hospital for medical care. Authorities confirmed that airbags deployed in the vehicle and that both occupants were wearing seatbelts, which likely helped prevent more severe injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and road conditions at the time were reported as dry.

The incident remains under investigation by local authorities. Our thoughts are with Ms. O’Bar and Mr. Hassinger, and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Single-Vehicle Crashes in Minnesota

Single-vehicle rollover accidents like the one on MN Highway 29 serve as a reminder of the risks drivers face, even in seemingly safe conditions. Rollovers often result from a loss of control, which can occur for various reasons, including speed, distraction, or roadway design.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety emphasizes the importance of adhering to speed limits, remaining focused on the road, and ensuring vehicles are properly maintained. Seatbelt use remains one of the most effective ways to reduce the severity of injuries in the event of an accident, as highlighted in this incident.

For those involved in single-vehicle accidents, documenting the scene, seeking medical attention, and cooperating with authorities are crucial steps in addressing the aftermath.
