Huntsville, AL (November 25, 2024) – Multiple crashes occurred on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-565 on Saturday afternoon, November 23, causing significant disruptions and a fatality. According to HEMSI spokesperson Don Webster, the incidents began at approximately 4:16 PM near mile marker 11 close to Toyota Field.
One of the crashes on the westbound lanes involved a motorcycle. Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.
Two additional crashes occurred on the eastbound lanes of I-565, involving other vehicles. Details about the injuries or the number of individuals affected in these incidents have not yet been disclosed.
Authorities and emergency responders worked to manage the scenes and restore normal traffic flow. Investigations into the causes of all the crashes are ongoing.
