Farmington, MO (November 25, 2024) – A tragic vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Laws Rd north of Shaker Ln resulted in the death of a 19-year-old female driver and moderate injuries to three male passengers. The crash was reported at approximately 1:39 AM, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities say a 2007 Scion TC, driven by a 19-year-old Farmington resident, veered off the left side of the road and collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by St. Francois County Coroner G. Armstrong at 2:05 AM. She was transported to the St. Francois County Morgue by the Assistant Coroner.
Three passengers, aged 18, 19, and 20, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Two of the passengers are Farmington residents, and one is from Bonne Terre. All three were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment. Reports indicate that none of the individuals were using safety devices at the time of the crash.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Marler’s Towing. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is conducting an in-depth investigation to determine contributing factors.
