Spring Hill, TN (November 21, 2024) – The Spring Hill Police Department has identified 19-year-old Jacob Crawford as the bicyclist who was struck and killed Wednesday evening in a tragic accident at Main Street and Campbell Station Parkway.
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when Crawford was cycling in the continuous turn lane of Campbell Station Parkway, waiting for traffic to clear. According to the preliminary investigation, a large Prevost passenger bus, carrying over 50 seats, exited the Publix parking lot and made a left turn onto Campbell Station Parkway. The bus collided with Crawford, resulting in fatal injuries.
Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing as authorities examine potential contributing factors, such as visibility, road conditions, and driver awareness.
