Tehachapi, CA (November 21, 2024) – A devastating multi-vehicle collision claimed the lives of two individuals on Wednesday morning in Tehachapi. The crash occurred around 7:25 a.m. on Tehachapi Willow Springs Rd, north of Oak Creek Rd.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 27-year-old Delano man was driving a Ford F-550 pickup truck southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle collided with a northbound GMC 3500 pickup truck driven by a 51-year-old Lancaster man. The impact triggered a chain-reaction crash, involving a Honda CRV driven by a 38-year-old Lancaster man and a Chevy 2500 pickup truck driven by a 59-year-old Palmdale man, both traveling northbound on Tehachapi Willow Springs Rd.
Tragically, the Lancaster man driving the GMC and his passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
