Mount Pleasant, SC (November 20, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian crash claimed the life of a woman on Monday afternoon in Mount Pleasant. The incident occurred on W Coleman Blvd near its intersection with Magrath Darby Blvd.
According to Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal, Mercedes Sykora, 61, of Mount Pleasant, was attempting to cross W Coleman Blvd when she was struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders transported her to the Medical University of South Carolina, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly before 2:00 a.m.
