Yuba City, CA (November 20, 2024) – Several students were transported to the hospital Tuesday morning after a school bus carrying 10 special needs children was involved in a crash near S Walton Avenue and Cherry Street. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene.
According to CHP reports, the crash occurred when the school bus was unable to stop in time for a vehicle attempting to make a left turn. The collision caused seven of the students on the bus to hit their heads on the seatbacks in front of them. All seven were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.
The three occupants of the other vehicle involved did not sustain any injuries. Emergency responders ensured the scene was safe and worked to address the needs of the students and others involved.
