Yadkin County, NC (November 19, 2024) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred Monday morning on NC 67 near East Bend Rd, resulting in the death of one individual. The crash happened around 8:22 AM and involved three vehicles.
According to a news release from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a 2003 Honda CRV, driven by Teresa Barker, 61, of Yadkin County, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 1997 Dodge Ram truck. The impact caused the Ram to spin in the road, striking a 2007 Toyota Avalon.
Authorities confirmed that Barker experienced a medical emergency, which led to her crossing left of center and causing the crash. Tragically, she died at the scene.
The drivers of the Dodge Ram and Toyota Avalon were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. NC 67 was temporarily closed for approximately one hour as investigators and emergency crews worked at the scene.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Teresa Barker during this difficult time. We also wish a swift recovery to the other individuals injured in this collision.
