Centereach, NY (November 18, 2024) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Sunday morning in a collision at the intersection of Joan Ave and Middle Country Rd. Emergency responders, including local police and medical personnel, were called to the scene to provide assistance.
The accident occurred around 10:30 AM when Christopher Borrero attempted to turn left onto Middle Country Rd from Ronkonkoma Blvd. During the turn, Borrero’s vehicle collided with a motorcycle operated by 23-year-old Anthony Russo of Selden. Russo sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Borrero was not injured in the crash.
Authorities closed Middle Country Rd in both directions between Smithtown Polk Blvd and Selden Blvd to investigate and clear the scene. The roadway remained closed until shortly before 3:00 PM, when it was reopened to traffic.
