Hawick, MN (November 18, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries in a crash involving a van and a car near Hawick Friday night, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision occurred around 8:30 PM at the intersection of 145th Street and 240th Avenue Northeast, north of Hawick. Authorities report that a van driven by 34-year-old Jose Garcia of Chicago, Illinois, was traveling eastbound on 240th Ave, while a car driven by 59-year-old Ryan Hovey of Osakis was traveling northbound on 145th St when the vehicles collided.
Ryan Hovey and his passenger, Lori Hovey, were transported to Paynesville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Garcia and his passenger were unharmed.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by local authorities.
