Carter County, MO (November 18, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash occurred Saturday evening on US 60 westbound at Highway V near Ellsinore, resulting in minor injuries to one individual. The collision was reported at approximately 5:44 PM and involved a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2024 Nissan Rogue.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a 17-year-old female juvenile from Ellsinore, MO, failed to yield to the Nissan Rogue, driven by a 31-year-old male from Poplar Bluff, MO. The Nissan struck the Suburban, causing moderate damage to the Suburban and extensive damage to the Rogue.
An occupant of the Nissan Rogue, a 29-year-old female from Poplar Bluff, sustained minor injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. The Suburban was towed by a private party, while the Rogue was removed from the scene by Brooks Towing.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision to determine additional contributing factors.
