Houston County, AL (November 17, 2024) – Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Highway 231 South and DHODGE Rd on Sunday afternoon. The crash, reported at approximately 1:23 p.m., involved multiple occupants and required the coordinated efforts of several local agencies.
According to Houston County 911, the accident was initially reported as a two-vehicle T-bone collision but was determined to involve three vehicles upon the arrival of emergency responders. The vehicles came to rest along DHODGE Rd and the edge of Highway 231.
Rehobeth Fire – Rescue transported two individuals to a hospital in Dothan for treatment. One of the injured victims is reported to have sustained a broken wrist, though all injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Hodgesville Volunteer Fire Department, Rehobeth Fire – Rescue, and Madrid Volunteer Fire Department. Houston County Sheriff Patrol Sergeant McKinney, Rehobeth Fire Chief Nick Floyd, and Hodgesville Fire Chief Beau Deathridge were also on-site to coordinate the response.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Troopers are leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
