Swan Valley, ID (November 16, 2024) – A 53-year-old man from Victor tragically lost his life early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 near milepost 368, just west of Swan Valley. The Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating the incident.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. when the driver of a 2003 GMC pickup traveling eastbound left the south shoulder of the highway and collided with an embankment. The force of the impact caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders from the Idaho Falls Fire Department arrived at the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim as they work to notify family members. ISP continues to investigate the cause of the crash, including factors such as speed, road conditions, or potential impairment.
