San Antonio, TX (November 16, 2024) – Authorities are searching for a suspect following a major accident early Saturday morning that left five individuals injured. The crash occurred around 12:27 a.m. at the intersection of St. Cloud and Bandera Rd.

According to police, a 39-year-old woman driving a white Jeep was stopped at a red light on the 100 block of St. Cloud, intending to travel south. Simultaneously, a white Silverado with two occupants was heading northwest on the 600 block of Bandera Rd when it ran the red light and collided with the Jeep.

The force of the crash redirected the Silverado into the eastbound lanes of Bandera Rd, where it struck a black Kia occupied by an 84-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman. Following the collision, the driver of the Silverado fled the scene on foot, abandoning their 24-year-old passenger and failing to assist the injured victims.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide care. All five individuals involved, including the Silverado’s passenger and the occupants of the Jeep and Kia, sustained minor injuries. Some were transported to the hospital for precautionary evaluations.

The driver of the Silverado faces five charges of failing to stop and render aid resulting in injury once apprehended. Authorities have not released any details about the suspect’s identity or appearance. The crash remains under active investigation.

May those injured experience a swift and smooth recovery.
