Lexington, KY (November 13, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run accident late Monday night on Richmond Rd near Squires Rd claimed the life of 47-year-old James David Stamper of Paris, Kentucky. The Lexington Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 11 p.m., where a moped and another vehicle were involved in the fatal collision.
Officials reported that Stamper, the moped driver, suffered fatal injuries from the crash. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Stamper died of blunt trauma injuries sustained in the accident.
In an update to the investigation, police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Logan Rogers in connection with the incident. Rogers has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid or Assist leading to Death or Serious Physical Injury. He is currently held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
