Buffalo, NY (November 11, 2024) – A tragic three-vehicle collision late Sunday night claimed the life of a 14-year-old driver in Buffalo, police reported. The accident occurred around 11:30 PM at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Amherst Street.
Buffalo police observed the vehicle traveling at a high speed near Elmwood and Hertel Avenue before attempting to initiate a pursuit. During the chase, the vehicle collided with an eastbound car on Amherst Street, causing it to spin and strike a third vehicle traveling northbound on Elmwood Avenue. The young driver was pronounced deceased at ECMC shortly after the crash.
The other vehicles involved sustained significant damage, but no additional injuries have been reported at this time. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Following New York state law, the Attorney General’s Office has been notified and will lead an independent inquiry.
