Durham, NC (November 11, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident in Durham left one person dead and another injured on Sunday evening. The collision occurred in the 1400 block of Holloway Street and involved a 2015 Kia Optima.
According to Durham police, two men were struck by the vehicle. Emergency responders treated one victim at the scene for injuries, while the second victim was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
The driver of the Kia, identified as 31-year-old Laquana Poole of Durham, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
