Providence, RI (November 10, 2024) – A Providence police officer and three civilians were injured in a crash early Sunday morning on Atwells Avenue. The accident occurred on November 10 around 1:58 a.m. while the officer was responding to assist another officer.
According to Providence police, the officer’s cruiser was traveling through traffic when another vehicle abruptly made a U-turn and failed to yield, leading to a collision. The officer was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment and later released.
The other driver involved in the crash suffered a concussion and additional injuries, according to Chief Oscar Perez. Two female passengers in the vehicle were also injured and transported to Rhode Island Hospital for medical care. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
