The collision occurred at approximately 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of 1200E and 2500N in Condit Township, prompting a swift response from Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies.
According to the investigation, 33-year-old Juan Pablo Sanchez Monrreal was driving a passenger car southbound on 1200E when he reportedly disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with 2500N. His vehicle struck a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck, hauling a trailer. Sanchez Montreal was extricated from his car by emergency crews but succumbed to his injuries later. The driver of the truck did not seek medical attention at the scene.
