Indianapolis, IN (November 7, 2024) – Emergency crews conducted a dive rescue on Wednesday morning after a vehicle veered into a pond near the Bureau of Motor Vehicles on Lake Circle Dr, close to W. 86th St and Township Line Rd. Indianapolis Fire Department, along with the Wayne Township and Pike Township fire departments, were dispatched to the scene around 10:02 a.m. following reports of the incident.
When first responders arrived, they found that bystanders had already intervened, assisting in pulling two individuals from the submerged vehicle. Firefighters helped the victims up a steep, muddy hill and transported them to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. Details regarding the injuries sustained by the victims have not yet been disclosed. No other vehicles were involved in this incident.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the accident, which remains unknown at this time.
