Phelps, MO (November 7, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on the morning of November 6, 2024, on I-44 Westbound, prompting the response of local emergency services. At approximately 8:15 AM, authorities were alerted to a multi-vehicle collision involving three trucks.
According to preliminary reports, the crash transpired as two vehicles, a 2025 Freightliner and a 2022 Kenworth, were slowing for stopped traffic. A 2024 Peterbilt then struck the rear of the Freightliner, causing a chain reaction. The impact forced the Freightliner to overturn, while the Peterbilt veered off the left side of the roadway and collided with a cable barrier.

Conversely, the 66-year-old driver of the Peterbilt from Maryland Heights, MO, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Phelps Health Rolla for further medical evaluation. Another driver of the Peterbilt, also aged 66, declined EMS despite suffering injuries.
