The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 25-year-old Neil Damian Sayers, a resident of Hueytown. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:31 p.m. Reports indicate that Sayers, driving the pickup truck, crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the collision with a Mercedes sedan driven by a 66-year-old woman. She sustained critical injuries and was transported to UAB Hospital for medical treatment.
