Jacksonville, FL (November 4, 2024) – A tragic vehicle collision occurred Monday morning on Normandy Boulevard, just west of Yellow Water Road, resulting in the death of a 40-year-old woman. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 5:35 a.m. involving two SUVs and a pickup truck.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 41-year-old woman driving an SUV was stopped in the left turn lane of eastbound Normandy Boulevard. At the same time, a 40-year-old woman from Orange Park was traveling westbound in another SUV, while a 49-year-old man was driving a pickup truck eastbound. As the 41-year-old attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot, she collided with the driver’s side of the westbound SUV.
The impact caused the second SUV to spin in a counter-clockwise direction, entering the eastbound lane where it was struck by the front of the pickup truck. Tragically, the 40-year-old woman died at the scene, as confirmed by the FHP.
The driver of the SUV making the left turn was not injured, while the pickup truck driver from Middleburg sustained minor injuries. The crash resulted in the closure of the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Yellow Water Road for several hours, with all lanes reopening around 9:30 a.m. as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
