Arlington, WA (November 2, 2024) – An investigation is currently underway following a serious pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday night. Just before 11 p.m., officers from the Arlington Police Department responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian in the 19300 block of Smokey Point Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had sustained serious injuries. Emergency medical services from the North County Regional Fire Authority treated her at the scene before transporting her to Providence Hospital in Everett for further medical care.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver involved in the accident promptly called 911 and remained at the scene until law enforcement arrived.
The Washington State Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team has taken over the investigation of the crash. In the meantime, a section of Smokey Point Boulevard, specifically between 188th and 204th Streets, was closed for several hours to allow investigators to gather evidence. The roadway has since reopened to traffic early Sunday morning.
