Pinkham’s Grant, NH (November 3, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 6 p.m. near 467 Route 16, resulting in the death of a 77-year-old man. New Hampshire State Police responded to the scene of the crash, which involved a sedan and an SUV.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the sedan was traveling northbound when it crossed the double solid yellow lines and collided with a southbound SUV. The driver of the SUV, identified as Peter Canty from Jackson, New Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Following the accident, Route 16 was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation and cleanup but has since been reopened to traffic.
