Clay County, MO (November 2, 2024) – A tragic motor vehicle crash occurred on November 1 at approximately 5:08 p.m. on eastbound MO-210, just west of State Route EE. The incident involved three vehicles and resulted in serious injuries and one fatality.
According to the crash report investigated by CPL J.A. Green and the M.C.I.U. Team, the collision began when a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 23-year-old male from Orrick, MO, struck the rear of a 2014 Ford Fusion, which was driven by a 27-year-old male from Excelsior Springs, MO. The impact caused the Fusion to travel into the westbound lane, where it was subsequently struck by a 2022 Ford Bronco driven by a 76-year-old female, also from Orrick, MO.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado sustained minor injuries and was transported by Liberty EMS to Liberty Hospital. The driver of the Ford Fusion was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital by Dr. Dan Hagen at 5:56 p.m. The driver of the Ford Bronco sustained serious injuries and was also taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
This incident marks Fatal Crash #66 and Fatality #74 for Troop A in 2024. The next of kin for the deceased driver have been notified. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, with assistance from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and Liberty EMS.
