Cumberland County, NJ (October 31, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred early Wednesday morning in Maurice River Township, resulting in five individuals suffering serious injuries. The incident took place on Route 347 around milepost 7, shortly before 3:30 a.m.
According to reports from the New Jersey State Police, a car traveling southbound struck the rear of an SUV, causing the SUV to veer off the roadway and collide with a tree. The car also left the road and ended up in a ditch. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist those injured.
The driver of the SUV, a 53-year-old man, along with four passengers—comprised of a 51-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man, and two juveniles—sustained serious injuries. All occupants of the SUV are residents of the Villas section of Lower Township. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
