Collier County, FL (October 30, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Tuesday night when a pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in the southbound lanes of US-41, just north of Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples. Emergency responders were alerted to the incident at approximately 8:05 PM.
According to reports from North Collier Fire and Collier County EMS, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene just minutes later, at 8:12 PM. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
As a result of the incident, all southbound lanes of Vanderbilt Beach Road have been blocked south of Strada Place, causing significant traffic disruptions in the area. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes until the investigation is complete and the roadway is cleared.
