Jacksonville, FL (October 30, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred late Tuesday evening when a 20-year-old man lost his life after his sedan collided with a semi-truck in Nassau County. The incident took place on SR-200, east of Chester Road, while both vehicles were traveling eastbound in the center lane.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the sedan, driven by the young man from Colorado, was observed speeding prior to the collision. The vehicle struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, which was operated by a 41-year-old man from Tampa. Both drivers were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Despite the safety measures in place, the impact was severe, resulting in the death of the 20-year-old at the scene. Fortunately, the semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
