St. Louis, MO (October 28, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning on Northbound West Florissant, just north of Canfield Drive. At approximately 3:02 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident involved a 2003 Yamaha R1 motorcycle, driven by 23-year-old Jarawn E. Jones Wilson from Tarawa Terrace, NC, and a 2017 Dodge Journey, driven by 29-year-old Robert L. Green from St. Louis, MO. The crash occurred when Green made an unsafe U-turn from lane 2, which placed him directly in the path of Wilson’s motorcycle. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Wilson swerved left; however, the front of his motorcycle struck the left side of the Dodge Journey.
The impact was severe, leading to Wilson being ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene at 3:12 AM. His body was subsequently transported by Lonnings Mortuary Services to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination. Green, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, sustained moderate damage to his vehicle but was not reported to have serious injuries.
