Cape Coral, FL (October 28, 2024) – A serious incident occurred on Sunday evening when a vehicle crashed into a home located at 146 NE 6th Place, injuring three individuals. Emergency responders from Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:07 PM.
Preliminary reports indicate that two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The elderly male driver reportedly experienced a medical episode that caused him to lose consciousness. During the treatment process, he briefly went into cardiac arrest, but EMS crews were able to successfully regain his pulse. Both the driver and his wife were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where they were declared “Trauma Alerts.”
The third victim, who was inside the home at the time of the accident, sustained minor injuries and is receiving medical attention. The crash resulted in significant damage to both the vehicle and the home.
As a precaution, NE Pine Island Ln has been closed between NE 7th Ave and NE 6th Ave while authorities conduct their investigation. The Cape Coral Police Department has classified the incident as a “Traffic Homicide Investigation” due to the presence of life-threatening injuries.
