Pensacola, FL (October 28, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Saturday afternoon on Interstate 10 in Escambia County, resulting in the death of a passenger. At approximately 3:30 p.m., a silver Audi SUV, driven by a 62-year-old man from Pensacola, was traveling eastbound on I-10 when he failed to negotiate a curve near Scenic Highway. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a large concrete wall, causing it to spin into a ditch.
The impact was severe, and the passenger, a 68-year-old woman also from Pensacola, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained critical injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for medical treatment. Reports indicate that neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
