At approximately 5 p.m., George Chryssomitis was crossing North Main Road when he was struck by an SUV driven by a local woman making a left turn from Fairmount Avenue.
According to police reports, Chryssomitis was in the center turn lane when the incident took place. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
