Astoria, NY (October 23, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred late Tuesday night when a pickup truck struck a bicyclist at the intersection of 37th Street and 34th Avenue around 11:05 p.m. The incident resulted in the death of the 36-year-old cyclist, who was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Elmhurst Hospital.
Surveillance footage captured the moments leading up to the collision, showing the cyclist approaching the intersection just as the black truck sped through, sending her and her bike airborne before landing on a nearby parked car.
