Monroe, LA (October 22, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred on Sunday night, claiming the life of a pedestrian on Interstate 20 just east of Louisiana Highway 133. Louisiana State Police Troop F began their investigation shortly before 9:00 a.m. on October 21, 2024, after receiving reports of the fatal incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that around 10:00 p.m. on October 20, 2024, 35-year-old Jared Osbon of West Monroe was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking in the left eastbound lane of the interstate. Unfortunately, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene, prompting an urgent search for information.
Through investigative efforts, Troopers determined that the vehicle involved was a 2021 or newer Ford Super Duty (either an F-250 or F-350). The Ford is believed to have sustained damage to its left front headlight assembly and grill during the incident.
