Taney, MO (October 22, 2024) – A significant vehicle collision occurred on October 21, 2024, at approximately 7:35 PM on US Highway 160 in Forsyth, Taney County. Emergency responders arrived promptly to assist those involved in the incident.
According to preliminary reports, the crash involved two vehicles, both Ford F150 trucks. The incident began when the driver of a 2007 Ford F150, identified as 42-year-old John Raven from Forsyth, ran off the right side of the roadway. In an attempt to regain control, Raven overcorrected, which caused his vehicle to cross the centerline and collide head-on with a 2017 Ford F150 driven by 23-year-old Halyn Sterner from West Plains.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by Jim’s Auto Body. Fortunately, both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the accident. Halyn Sterner sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for evaluation. John Raven, however, suffered serious injuries and was also transported to the same hospital for further medical treatment.
