Buter, MO (October 22, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred on October 21, 2024, at approximately 4:40 PM on Route C, four miles south of Poplar Bluff in Butler County. This incident prompted a response from local emergency services to assist those involved.
According to preliminary reports, the crash involved two vehicles: a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500. The incident unfolded when the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe, identified as 23-year-old Sarah Leonard from Poplar Bluff, pulled into the path of the Dodge Ram. The Dodge Ram, driven by 19-year-old Austin Sheppard from Harviell, struck the rear of the Tahoe, resulting in significant damage.
The Chevrolet Tahoe was deemed a total loss and was towed from the scene by Nabert’s Towing, while the Dodge Ram sustained moderate damage and was towed by Woolard’s Towing. Fortunately, both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the accident.
In terms of injuries, a 5-year-old female occupant in the Chevrolet Tahoe sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Another occupant, 24-year-old Amber Martin, also from Poplar Bluff, sustained injuries and was similarly transported to the hospital.
