North Fort Myers, FL (October 21, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Saturday night, resulting in the death of a 79-year-old man from North Fort Myers and leaving another elderly man in serious condition. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place when an SUV was traveling east on Bayshore Road and attempted to turn onto Twin Brooks Road.
Reports indicate that as the SUV made the left turn, it collided with a pickup truck that was traveling in the opposite direction. The impact occurred on the front right side of the SUV, leading to catastrophic consequences. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
