New Scotland, NY (October 20, 2024) – A tragic motor vehicle accident occurred Saturday afternoon in the Town of New Scotland, resulting in one fatality and injuries to other occupants. On October 20, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Albany County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on New Scotland South Road, in the vicinity of Game Farm Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a single-occupant vehicle was traveling northbound on New Scotland South Road when a second vehicle, carrying two occupants, entered the roadway from Game Farm Road, leading to the collision. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find that a 91-year-old woman from the Town of Bethlehem had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The two individuals in the second vehicle were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment of their injuries.
